Callistephus Classic Salmon Rose
The spectacular, rose-pink pom-pom flowers of Callistephus 'Classic Salmon Rose' sit proudly atop strong stems, adding height to borders from midsummer well into autumn. This unusual half-hardy annual also makes an impressive, long-lasting and rarely seen cut flower. Height: 75cm (30in).
Sowing
Sow undercover from March to April. Keep moist and cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost. Keep at a constant temperature of between 20-25C (68-77F). During germination, allow the temperature to reduce at night. After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Germination will usually take 3-15 days.
How to grow
Pot up when seedlings are 2-3cm tall. Grow on somewhere light and cool but frost free. Harden off before planting out when all danger of frost has passed. Any spindly plants can be pinched back.
